Photo's and Editing

Firstly I chose the photo I wanted. I knew at this stage I wanted all the photos I was using to be in black and white. I played around with the tools and found out the way to do it was to go onto photoshop, image, adjustments then black and white. After this I realised his face was very bright so I used the brightness tool to make it slightly darker.
After this I cut out the image and placed it onto the page. The image I was editing here was for the contents page.
I used this same technique on a concert photo I had taken. The colours were purple, red and blue and I knew this would not match the black white and red theme I wanted in my magazine. However instead of using photoshop I used an app on my phone that is used to edit instagram photos. The colours came out exactly how I wanted them, and I slanted this photo and placed it on the top right hand corner of my contents page.
I also used the black and white tool for my album cover on my second double page spread. I wanted to make an album cover to make the magazine more realistic so I edited out the artists hands and imported images of skeleton fingers and skulls around the outside to give it an edgy hip hop look.
