ROCKSOUND Double Page Spread Analysis

The double page spread for Rock sound is very professional. It contains minimal amounts of bright, loud fonts with the exception of the title. Firstly, there is an image right justified on the double page spread that takes up the entire page. The band is centred in the photo and sitting down, so there is still space in the photo that shows the page furniture. This allows the double page spread to look full, but prevents it from looking cramped.
The text on the other side is in a very small font, however there are many spaces where paragraphs end and begin that stops it from looking packed. The page has a simple white background with black text. This lets all of the attention go straight to the image when people first see the page, as if the font was brightly coloured it would be a distraction. The only bright coloured font is the first letter of a paragraph. This is effective in showing the reader where one ends and begins.
There is also another image in the top right corner of the left page, which is a medium long shot of the boys. This image is cropped which shows the reader where the focus should be.
The image is of the boys throwing something out of the image. A CD has been edited to seem like it is being hit by the boys and thrown out of the page to the reader, which adds depth to the double page spread and makes it look 3D. The article is mainly about the band, and it also includes some interview questions and answers.
